Alabama Renaissance Faire Memorial Fleet

A unique activity at the Alabama Renaissance Faire is children sailing boats “around the world”. It is fun for the children, raises donations for the maintenance of the fleet, but has a far more significant meaning to the Roundtable (our name for the planning committee and staff of the Alabama Renaissance Faire). Each boat is dedicated to a Roundtable member who has passed away. The sails are hand-painted to honor the volunteer’s contribution to the Faire. We hold a dedication ceremony and invite friends and family of the deceased to sail the boat around the fountain. The boat is then added to our Memorial Fleet.
