Scavenger Hunt/Quiz
This year we have decided to do a combination scavenger hunt & quiz. Each clue asks a question whose answer you must get by finding a person or thing at the Faire and taking a photo of said person or thing. (These photos can be taken with or with out your child or children, but we would love for this to be a special memory for you too.).
Please remember to ask permission before taking photos and to be respectful of all performers and vendors.
Six photos wins the prize, please come to the Children's Play Yard to show off your pictures. (Right across from the library, look for the big blow-up dragons.)
1. Wales is called the "Land of Song." Which instrument is its national symbol?
2. What do knights carry to protect themselves from dragons?
3. What do fairies use to fly?
4. Who would have lived in a castle in the Middle Ages?
5. What do dragons breathe that knights fear most?
6. Fairies love to hide in gardens. What is something small and colorful that grows there?
7. Who tells stories and sings songs at a Welsh gathering? (Hint: several are around our faire, but they won't all be known by the Welsh name.)
8. A dragon's body is covered in what? (Note: due to folklore there can be multiple answers to this one, so whatever the child is happy with is perfect.)
9. What do fairies carry to cast spells?
10. Welsh art often has endless looping lines with no beginning or end. What is this pattern called? (You're looking for an example for your photo.)
Bonus: Take a photo of the most magical thing you saw today for Snyckerdoodle and you'll receive her extra prize.
Our team of Roundtable Volunteers provide free activities for children of all ages. The Squire's Play Yard is located in the Southeast Corner of the Park near the South Devon Stage.
