Attendees are encouraged to mingle with their fellows and to process before the court between courses and entertainment sets. We will have a plated service, but guests are encouraged to bring their own table decorations, place settings, and eating utensils to decorate their table in a Medieval/Renaissance style. Near the end of the evening, the Monarch chooses his or her favorite table and the winner receives two free tickets to next year's feast.
Welcome to The Feast, where the medieval magic happens every 3rd Saturday of October at the Florence-Laud Coliseum! Picture this: Feast Hall morphs into a lively square filled with scrumptious grub and entertainment that'll have you laughing like a jester. Join us for a 2 ½ to3-hour journey back in time—costumes are encouraged, but hey, no one’s going to throw you in the stocks if you come as you are! Just remember, seating is limited to 200 guests, so grab your tickets faster than a knight can say "sword fight!" And forget, unleash your inner medieval decorator—arrange your table like a true artisan starting Friday, and may the Monarch bestow glory upon best setup!
The Feast is held annually on the 3rd Saturday of October. It takes place at the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum (Feast Hall) in Florence, Alabama. The Feast Hall is set up as a square. The middle of the square is the court where the evening's entertainment is held. To the left of the square (left of Row C) is a large roll up door which serves as the entrance to our Feast Hall. The "High Table" is reserved for our Monarch and the Royal Party. This table sits upon the stage in the coliseum. Ticket holders may begin decorating with their table settings starting the Friday before the event after lunch, and the day of the event starting at 9 a.m. Everyone is welcome to our Feast; however, seating is limited to 200 people. See below for the seating chart.
The Feast is 2 1/2 to 3 hours of medieval-themed food and entertainment. Costumes are not required but are always admired.
If you are at least 18 years of age or older, you can also try your luck at becoming the King or Queen of the next year's Feast & Faire. The qualifications are:

-
Create a character/persona that fits within the Medieval/Renaissance time frame, subject to approval from the Roundtable Board of Directors
-
Work with the Roundtable volunteers who oversee the faire
-
Make public appearances in costume to help promote the faire
-
Have the Feast and Faire weekends open to attend both events and reign as royalty

"The Choosing" is done at the end of the night. Our chef hides a small coin inside a dessert cake. All who wish to try and find the coin are given the chance to pick from a selection of cookies on a platter. The one who finds the coin will be next year's King or Queen of the Feast and Faire.

The story goes that our kingdom is under a curse upon which a monarch can only reign for one year. Each year, the hope is that he/she who finds the coin will be the one to finally break the curse and reign for many years to come.
